Wooden Buildings strategy

Decarbonising real estate is the greatest challenge of our time. While reusing and repurposing existing buildings will be integral in decreasing embodied carbon emissions, new development will still be needed. Using wood as a construction material is increasingly recognised as part of the solution to the climate crisis through its capacity to remove carbon from the atmosphere and lock it away. At the same time, investing in mass timber assets offers financial benefits to investors through faster building times and the ability to easily adapt the building in the long term. Wooden buildings are also experiencing robust occupier demand: our research finds that such assets command a 9% rental premium.
